Tahajjud alarms — troubleshooting
Awdah schedules local Tahajjud reminders at the time you choose. On Android, ringing may use exact alarms, a full-screen intent on the lock screen, and a foreground service with media playback so audio continues while the alarm is active. On iOS, reminders use notification scheduling subject to Apple system rules.
First-time setup checklist
- Open Awdah → Tahajjud → set your reminder time and turn the reminder on.
- Allow notifications when iOS or Android prompts you.
- On Android, allow Alarms & reminders / exact alarms if asked.
- On Android, allow full-screen notifications or “display over other apps” for alarm UI if your device asks.
- Schedule a test alarm 2–3 minutes ahead and lock your phone before it fires.
Android — alarm did not ring
- Battery optimization — In system Settings → Apps → Awdah → Battery, choose Unrestricted / Don’t optimize (wording varies by manufacturer: Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei, etc.).
- Exact alarm permission — Settings → Apps → Awdah → Alarms & reminders → Allow.
- Full-screen intent — Ensure full-screen notifications are allowed for Awdah on Android 14+ where this is a separate toggle.
- Do Not Disturb — Confirm DND is off, or that Awdah alarms are allowed as exceptions.
- Force-stop — If you force-stopped Awdah, reopen it and re-save your Tahajjud reminder.
- Volume — Check media/alarm volume and connected Bluetooth devices.
- Auto-start / background activity — On some OEM skins, enable auto-start or background activity for Awdah.
iOS — alarm did not ring
- Settings → Notifications → Awdah → Allow Notifications, Sounds, and Banners/Lock Screen.
- Disable Focus / Sleep / Do Not Disturb during your Tahajjud window, or add Awdah as an allowed app.
- Confirm the reminder toggle is on inside the Tahajjud screen.
- After iOS updates, re-check notification permissions.
- Test with a near-term reminder while the phone is locked.
Snooze and dismiss
When an alarm fires, the full-screen UI offers dismiss and snooze actions. If you dismiss without logging, your streak tools still reflect what you record — be honest when marking nights completed.
13 Line Quran allowlist
Home → 13 Line Quran opens an in-app WebView that loads ebook pages over HTTPS from ebooks.qamarapps.com only. This is intentional security design.
- Only allowlisted hosts load; other URLs are blocked.
- If pages fail, check Wi‑Fi or cellular data and try again.
- VPNs or DNS filters that block the host may prevent loading.
- A remote setting may suggest a URL path, but the app still enforces the allowlist before displaying content.
Quran editions may differ slightly from printed mushafs. For critical recitation, verify with a trusted printed copy. Details: Quran disclaimer.
Required updates
Awdah may check a minimum required version from our servers. If your install is outdated, the app can show a blocking update screen. Tap through to install from the official App Store or Google Play only — Awdah never sends you to random websites or unofficial APK sources for updates.

Account & deletion
Sign-in
Create or sign in to an account to sync journeys, join Family Hub, post in Dua Circle, and participate in challenges. Keep your email and sign-in method secure.
Delete your account
Go to Profile → Delete account in the app (label may vary slightly by version). This removes access to your Awdah account data as described in our Privacy Policy. Deletion is permanent for account access — you may need to create a new account to return.
If you cannot access the app, email mytadhkira@gmail.com from your registered address with the subject “Account deletion request” and include your platform (iOS/Android) and the email on the account.
Family Hub, Dua Circle & Challenges
- Family Hub — Private circle for weekly goals and encouragement. Invite only people you trust.
- Dua Circle — Share duas; others can say Ameen. Keep posts respectful; do not share private information.
- Challenges — Explore public Tahajjud challenges, join with a code, or create your own.

What is Awdah?
Awdah is an Islamic habit companion focused on Tahajjud and gentle spiritual routines — alarms, journeys, family tools, community duas, challenges, daily duas, and a 13 Line Quran reader.
Does Awdah include payments or a wallet?
No. Awdah does not provide in-app wallets, stored balances, or payment processing. Download is free from the official stores; any future paid features would be clearly disclosed in the app and store listing.
Why does Android ask for exact alarms and full-screen permissions?
These permissions power Tahajjud reminders at precise times and allow the lock-screen ringing UI and continuous alarm audio through a foreground media playback service — not for ads.
Why won’t the Quran page load?
Usually network issues or a blocked host. Confirm you have internet access and that ebooks.qamarapps.com is reachable. Non-allowlisted URLs are rejected by design.
How do push notifications differ from Tahajjud alarms?
Push notifications (optional) may include reminders and activity alerts delivered through APNs/FCM. Tahajjud alarms you schedule locally are separate and may still use exact alarm scheduling even when push is disabled — but both need appropriate permissions.
Is Awdah religious authority or fatwa?
No. Awdah encourages habits and remembrance; it does not issue fatwa. Consult qualified scholars for rulings. See spiritual disclaimer.
How do I log a Tahajjud night?
After waking, use the Tahajjud section to mark the night and optionally add a reflection. The weekly heart fills as you log up to seven nights.
Journeys show locked days — is that a bug?
Usually not. Journeys pace tasks in order — later days unlock as you complete earlier ones so the path stays gentle and intentional.
What should I include in a support email?
Device model, OS version, Awdah app version, steps to reproduce, and screenshots or screen recordings. For alarms, note whether the test was on a locked screen and which permissions are enabled.
Can I use Awdah offline?
Some features work offline after load (for example cached screens), but Quran pages, account sync, challenges, and version checks need network access. Alarms you already scheduled may still fire offline depending on OS behavior.
